That's my two cents, spend it however you'd like. It's a poorly run site, loaded with createns that thrive on making others miserable and trashing their work. Therefore, literally speaking, there's no way to view a deactivated DeviantART account. When something is following the rules, it gets mercilessly attacked, while anything that violates the rules is left virtually unharmed. Once a DeviantART account has been deactivated, your profile page including your deviations and journals are pulled from public view and all of your previous comments will show your username greyed out with a line through it. It makes posting something discouraging due to the fact it may not even be noticed except by watchers, and even that's a stretch.Īll in all, DA is simply a minefield. On top of that, have you noticed DA's recent "upgrade"? It's turned the site into a mess, especially since it seems to now only focus on popular items, not new ones, and rarely updates that front page. On the other hand, some people just decide to close up shop because they just don't like the site or want to avoid other problems, like friends discovering their "dark secret". It's one of the reasons why I borderline hate DA's "policies" and such. And when something is obviously breaking their "rules", it stays up for months and months untouched. Even if something is following their "rules", it can still be torn down for whatever reason they have. On the one hand, DA tends to be overloaded with hypersensitive mods and the trolls.
